MOCKUP

A Smile Mock-Up is a temporary simulation of the planned dental restoration placed directly in the patient’s mouth.

What Is a Dental Mock-Up?

A dental mock-up is created based on a diagnostic wax-up prepared by the dental laboratory. Using temporary materials, the proposed tooth shapes and proportions are transferred to the patient’s mouth so the new smile can be visualized and evaluated.

This process allows adjustments to be made before the final restorations are fabricated.

Key Benefits

  • Allows patients to visualize their new smile in advance
  • Improves communication between dentist, patient, and laboratory
  • Helps evaluate tooth shape, length, and proportions
  • Supports precise treatment planning
  • Reduces the risk of aesthetic dissatisfaction

Clinical Applications

Smile mock-ups are commonly used in cases such as:

  • Veneer treatments
  • Smile makeovers
  • Full-mouth rehabilitation
  • Aesthetic crown restorations

Y Med Dental Laboratory Approach

At our laboratory, mock-ups are carefully designed based on detailed diagnostic analysis and aesthetic planning. Each case is developed to reflect the ideal tooth proportions, smile line, and facial harmony.

This approach allows clinicians and patients to confidently evaluate the treatment plan before moving forward with the final restorations.
